Callicoon, NY- A Connecticut driver asked the wrong guy for directions.
State police say off-duty Trooper Yisroel Kaplan was outside a business in Callicoon in Sullivan County last weekend when a man driving a Mercedes Benz pulled into the parking lot to ask for directions.
Troopers say as Kaplan was speaking to the driver he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He also saw an open beer between the legs of the front seat passenger.
After the car pulled away, Kaplan phoned an on-duty trooper and the vehicle was pulled over.
Police say the three Connecticut men in the car were charged with drug possession after troopers found marijuana in the vehicle.
All three were issued appearance tickets to return to court at a later date.
