At the same time, Vegemite’s label has changed in recent months to include halal certification. Muslim leaders have congratulated Kraft for introducing the labels. But since the labels were changed in August, Kraft’s head office has received regular phone calls from people complaining about the halal labelling on Vegemite. Vegemite has been certified kosher for more than a decade. An Australian subject that will keep the press busy for the years to come.

There must come a time when we all unite to defend our state and our hard earned money. Why can’t the governor take a pay cut. Do all these political persons need so much money while the rest of us are looked to to bail out the state that we didn’t put in that condition to begin with. Who are we who are loyal to the state? They already took away our star rebates and if that is not enough they continue to raise taxes and now this. And yet one wonders why so many houses are up for sale and people are moving.

First , They want to issue the plates 2 years early. Second, They raise the prices. Third, The plates are BUTT UGLY. If this goes through, everyone should mount the plates upside down in protest.

I have referenced Chananyah’s article in a piece of satire I wrote recently. Seriously, I think his group does great work, and their website is full of important material. At the risk of simplifying it is basically about saying, make meeting and exploring a legitimate normal part of organized Jewsih life and informal Jewish social activity. I compliment and wish him much success even if it means I won’t get to do another satirical piece on the shidduch crisis. Alas, as he knows, I will definitely get a few more doozies, like the recent kol koreh to keep me going.
