Kiryas Joel, NY – Supreme Court Justice Joseph Owen was asked to intervene once again in a fight over a dissident synagogue in the Village of Kiryas Joel.
The judge responded saying that “It is seemingly impossible to ever resolve their ‘legal’ issues,” the judge wrote.
According to The Times Herald Record Owen — who first ruled in the case almost two years ago — fumed that both sides “appear to be under the erroneous belief that this long-disposed proceeding will continue as indefinitely as their eternal feud with one another.”
“It is seemingly impossible to ever resolve their ‘legal’ issues,” the judge wrote. “Rather, they engage in an endless cycle of seeking judicial intervention and then ignoring court mandates, invoking whichever authority is viewed as paramount at the time.”
As of Wednesday, the dissidents continued to pray in their synagogue.
