Mumbai, India – Canadian PM Pays Moments Of Silence At Chabad House

India CanadaMumbai, India – Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper today paid homage to the victims of Nariman Chabad House, a Jewish centre and one of the sites of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Harper was taken around the building by a rabbi and shown the rooms and floors on which the attacks took place, killing at least six people including the then rabbi Holtzberg and his pregnant wife.

He spent a few moments of silence in memory of those killed during the brutal attacks.

Later, he also interacted briefly with a few of the assembled Jews and condemned the 26/11 attacks.

Harper is being accompanied by his wife Laureen on the three-day visit from November 16 to 18. This is his first visit to India after taking office. He is scheduled to leave for Delhi later this evening.

The visit was organised under tight security with limited access to Indian mediapersons though some Canadian journalists in Harper’s entourage were permitted inside.
